For Bixby Patients

Hormone Optimization Therapy for Bixby

Hormone optimization therapy aims to restore what the body has become depleted of. Patients come to us with fatigue that sleep does not fix, low libido, broken sleep, weight that will not move and a mood that has flattened out — symptoms that are easy to attribute to age and easy to leave unexamined. We treat men and women, and we start by measuring rather than assuming.

We have one office, in south Tulsa, and we do not have a clinic in Bixby. What we do have is a steady number of patients who travel from there, and a short, simple drive for them to make.

What To Expect

What patients hope to get back

Hormone therapy is not a cure-all and results differ from person to person. These are the changes patients most often tell us matter.

Energy

Steadier through the day instead of an afternoon collapse.

Sleep

Deeper, less broken rest.

Mood

A calmer, more even baseline.

Libido

Renewed interest and a healthier sex drive.

Strength

Better maintenance of lean muscle.

Hot flashes

Relief from menopausal symptoms.

How the care works

The process is the same wherever you travel from. We take a full history and run a blood panel, because there is no way to know whether hormones are behind how you feel without measuring them. If your levels and your symptoms point the same way, we talk through the options: what form of therapy suits you, how it is given, what it costs, how long before you might notice a difference and what the risks are.

Once you start, we re-test. Follow-up bloodwork tells us whether the dose is right and lets us adjust it rather than guess. Hormone therapy is a prescription treatment, it is not suitable for everybody, and certain cancers, cardiovascular conditions, clotting disorders and pregnancy can rule it out or change the approach. If it is not working for you, we will say so.

The full detail is on our hormone optimization therapy page.

Getting Here

The drive from Bixby

From Bixby, Memorial or Mingo will both bring you north to 81st Street, where we are a few blocks east of Memorial on Mingo. The Creek Turnpike is the quicker option if you are coming from the east side of Bixby. Parking is free and outside the door.

Bixby has grown quickly and its medical services have not entirely kept pace, so a lot of our Bixby patients are used to driving into Tulsa for anything beyond routine care. We are one of the nearer options, and the drive up Memorial or Mingo is a straight one.

Questions

Bixby patient questions

Yes. North on Memorial or Mingo to 81st Street, or the Creek Turnpike if you are on the east side of Bixby. There are no awkward junctions and parking is free outside.

Yes, always. We will not prescribe hormone therapy without measuring your levels first, and we re-test during treatment to make sure the dose is right.

No. Men experience a gradual decline in testosterone with age, and the symptoms overlap a great deal with what women describe. We assess and treat both.

More often at the start, while we are getting the dose right, then at regular intervals for as long as you stay on therapy.
